B-S-Technic GmbH - early days - now - future
B-S-Technic GmbH was founded on July 31st, 1969 by Kurth Bratke and the graduate engineer Henning Schmidt.
Their business area these days was easily recognised in the name B-S-Plastikverarbeitung (plastic processing) back then.
The first products, which we produced were plastic caps filled with concrete (illustration 1), which served as conductor holders of flat roofs for lightning rod wires.
The space in the garage in Bietigheim (town in Germany) soon became too small, so that we moved to a different address (Obere Bahnhofstrasse) in Durmersheim (town in Germany close to Bietigheim) in 1971 already, where we rented only part of the building.
Kurth Bratke left the company in 1970 already, so that Henning Schmidt was sole managing director and owner of B-S-Plastik GmbH.
With the increase in product diversity and the number of employees space became limited, so that time after time the entire building was rented.
In 1989 the company changed its name to B-S-Technic GmbH and the entire building was available for purchase in 1990. This was possible due to the rising market acceptance of manufactured products, which have been mainly developed by ourselves.
It would be too much to list all innovations of the 47 years of company history. The following shows a selection of the most important:
An important milestone in the product history of B-S-Technic GmbH was the introduction of the snap-duplo-holder in 1978 (illustration 2).
Its unique mechanics (video) was revolutionary and changed the entire market for articles of lightning protection.
A similar resounding success came with the introduction of the stainless steel duplo-holder in 1995, which shone with a unique combination of elegance and practicability (video).
